The Olivella is one of the Lazio region's local red grape varieties reproduced from the original native vine. Its name comes of the shape of its grapes, similar to olives. Casale della Ioria made a cultural investment that has allowed its presentation for the first time in 2008; an authentic rarity: a ruby red wine with various smells that deserves a rediscovery.
The nose is intense and particular: it ranges from sweet hints of berries and cinnamon biscuits, to woody and balsamic references of bark, licorice, wet earth. The taste is full and balanced, with beautiful tannins.
This dry red wine can be easily matched with all the plates and especially with meat, fried dishes and soups.
